Millions of us have been hesitant to put ourselves out there, to unite and stand. Or to stand alone.
Some have been waiting for somebody else. Some have been waiting for some elusive mystical tipping point at which things go buck wild before we are going to join the rodeo. Some struggle to accept the reality of how far we have fallen, still trying to convince ourselves that it couldn’t happen here, not really, it will all go away and get better. Because of course, the people who are supposed to protect us, will, right?
What if nobody is coming to save the day?
What if there is nobody else left between us and them?
If somebody else was going to ride in on their white horse and slay the evils, wouldn’t they have done it long before now? Maybe, maybe not.
If there is some grand plan behind the scenes, that is all well and good. But that is not what I can observe looking around me.
What I observe is an accelerating spiral into despotism, communism, and genocide. What I observe is all the horrors I have read about in dystopian novels and history books. What I observe is a system of corruption top to bottom with zero accountability. What I observe is a system that has become a twisted perversion and illusion of what we once called freedom. What I observe is nobody has come to save the day.
What about you? What exactly is it that you have been waiting for? How much worse does it need to become before we accept that whatever we are waiting for isn’t going to happen? Or if it does, perhaps by that point it is too late.
I for one will not wait for them to bring their War to my doorstep. Truth be told, they broke in and burned the house down generations ago already. There is no more doorstep.
I for one am not waiting for somebody else to come and save the day. We are it. There is nobody else. All the institutions we have relied on have fallen, and we watched it happen.
There is nobody else. This is up to you and me.
And never forget, God.
God plus one makes a majority.
